Easton's Long Island Story

Though of German lineage, this particular Leonberger is a Long Island boy through and through. 

Born on Staten Island, Long Island's neighbor, Easton was 1 of 14 puppies born on December 25th, 2018 – yes, that's a lot of Christmas fur babies! Little did he know that his Long Island parents were not far away and they could not wait to meet him.

Easton was born for a Long Island lifestyle. He loves his daily walks around the neighborhood, sandy beach trips prime for digging, and body surfing in the cool, ocean water. 

"What Kind of Dog is That?"

Leonbergers are a very unknown dog breed but Julia Christ, Founder and President of Atlantic & Sound, knew she wanted one from an early age. "I always loved their look, playful disposition, and how big they are! The breed is a very loyal, loving family dog and I knew I wanted one."

When she and her husband finally got Easton, they knew that the breed was uncommon but little did they know how frequently they would be stopped by intrigued Long Island locals during their daily family walks.

"What kind of dog is that?"; "Is that a [insert other-large-dog-breed-name here]?"; "Does he shed a lot?"; "How much does he weigh?"; "Is he friendly?" – these are just some of the frequent questions passersby ask the family. Easton’s parents are more than happy to answer the curious questions because they are almost always followed with "I love your dog!"; "He's so cute"; "Where did you get him? I want one!".

Mr. "Mayor"

Easton is Mr. Personality. He adores the local attention he gets, especially during his daily walks along main street. He loves absolutely everyone he meets and excitedly greets every person as if a long-lost friend he hasn't seen in ages. He gets that extra pep-in-his-step whenever he comes across a friendly neighborhood man, woman, child or dog during afternoon walks. His enthusiasm and happiness dubbed him the nickname "Mr. Mayor" by his parents.

Easton's Role at Atlantic & Sound

Easton's enthusiasm makes him the perfect doggy mascot of Atlantic & Sound. He completes very important tasks essential to the busy work day. Those duties include:

• Modeling Atlantic & Sound gear 
• Keeping morale up with belly scratches and head rubs
• Reminding everyone to take breaks during a busy workday by going outside
• Requesting frequent walks for daily exercise
• Celebrating sales with happy tail wags and dances
• Snuggling on the couch at the end of a long work day
